The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
