The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
