He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 and in awe [of God] 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 noble and purified. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 but others will be gloomy 40 and covered by darkness. 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
