Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
