Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
