The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
