The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 They sat by it 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the Glorious, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
