Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

The desire to have more of the worldly gains have pre-occupied you so much (that you have neglected remembring God), 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 Then no! You are going to know. 4 Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) 5 Surely ye shall behold the Scorch. 6 Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty; 7 Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
