Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired. 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood. 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
