The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil). 2 Who believe in the unseen and establish the (daily) prayer; who spend out of what We have provided them. 3 who believe in what has been sent down to thee and what has been sent down before thee, and have faith in the Hereafter; 4 It is they who follow the guidance [which comes from their Sustainer]; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! 5 Verily those who have disbelieved, it is equal to them whether thou warnest them or warnest them not; they will not believe. 6 Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah's Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment. 7
