The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 (Muhammad), We have given you the seven most repeated (verses) and the great Quran. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 (Of a punishment) Like the one We sent down upon the dividers. 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 As to what they did. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,- 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance. 98 and worship your Lord until the last moment (of your life) that will most certainly come. 99
