WITH ALL THIS, man [often] says, "What! Once I am dead, shall I again be brought forth alive?" 66 But does man not remember that We created him when he was nothing before? 67 So by your Lord, We will surely gather them and the devils; then We will bring them to be present around Hell upon their knees. 68 Then We shall pluck out from every sect whichever of them was most stubborn in rebellion to the Beneficent. 69 Again We do certainly know best those who deserve most to be burned therein. 70 And every one of you will come within sight of it: this is, with thy Sustainer, a decree that must be fulfilled. 71 Then We shall rescue those who kept from evil, and leave the evil-doers crouching there. 72 And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, those who disbelieve (the rich and strong among the pagans of Quraish who live a life of luxury) say to those who believe (the weak, poor companions of Prophet Muhammad SAW who have a hard life): "Which of the two groups (i.e. believers and disbelievers) is best in (point of) position and as regards station (place of council for consultation)." 73 How many generations that had far more wealth and ostentation have We laid low before them! 74 (Muhammad), tell them, "The Beneficent God gives respite to those who have gone astray only until they face the torment with which they were threatened or to the Day of Judgment. Then they will find out who will have the most miserable place and the weakest forces. 75 "And Allah doth advance in guidance those who seek guidance: and the things that endure, Good Deeds, are best in the sight of thy Lord, as rewards, and best in respect of (their) eventual return." 76 Hast thou then seen the (sort of) man who rejects Our Signs, yet says: "I shall certainly be given wealth and children?" 77 Has he the knowledge of the unseen or has the Beneficent God established such a binding agreement with Him? 78 Nay, but We shall record that which he saith and prolong for him a span of torment. 79 We shall inherit that of which he speaks and he will come before Us alone. 80 And they have taken (for worship) gods other than Allah, to give them power and glory! 81 No! Those "gods" will deny their worship of them and will be against them opponents [on the Day of Judgement]. 82
