The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers: 34 Does he promise you that when you die and have become dust and bones, that you will be brought forth again? 35 ۞ Such a promise will never come true. 36 “There is nothing except our life of this world, we die and we live, and we are not to be raised.” 37 He is not but a man who has invented a lie about Allah, and we will not believe him." 38 He said: 'Help me, Lord, they belie me' 39 He replied: 'Before long, by the morning, they shall be remorseful' 40 The blast justly struck them and We reduced them to rubble. Away with such wicked people! 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 No nation can anticipate their term, nor can they delay it. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Whenever a Messenger came to his people they rejected him, calling him a liar. Thereupon, We made each people to follow the other (to its doom), reducing them to mere tales (of the past). Scourged be the people who do not believe! 44 We then sent Moosa and his brother Haroon, with Our signs and a clear proof. 45 unto Pharaoh and his great ones; but these behaved with arrogance, for they were people wont to glorify [only] themselves. 46 And so they said: "Shall we believe [them] two mortals like ourselves - although their people are our slaves?" 47 Then they accused them of lies, and joined the company of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them a refuge on a hillside where there was a hollow and a spring. 50
