۞ And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence. 21 The Day, when they will see the angels, will not be a day of rejoicing for the criminals; they will cry out, "May Allah save us!" 22 And We will proceed to what they have done of deeds, so We shall render them as scattered floating dust. 23 The inmates of Paradise will have a better abode that day, and a better resting place. 24 On a Day when the sky will split open with its clouds and the angels are sent down rank upon rank, 25 The real Kingdom on that Day will belong only to the Merciful, and it will be a very hard Day for the disbelievers. 26 On that Day, the wrongdoer will bite his hands and say, "Would that I had walked in the Messenger's path! 27 Alas for me! Ah, would that I had never taken such an one for friend! 28 He verily led me astray from the Reminder after it had reached me. Satan was ever man's deserter in the hour of need. 29 And the Apostle will say: my Lord! verily my people took this Qur'an as a thing to be shunned. 30 Even so have We appointed unto every prophet an opponent from among the guilty; but Allah sufficeth for a Guide and Helper. 31 The unbelievers have said, "Why was the whole Quran not revealed to him at once?" We have revealed it to you in gradual steps to strengthen your hearts and give you explanations. 32 There is not an example they advance to which We do not give you a right answer and a better explanation. 33 Those who will be driven headlong into hell will have a terrible dwelling; they have certainly gone astray. 34
