And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Would that we had a second chance [in life,] so that we could be among the believers!" 102 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104
