Recite unto them the story of Abraham: 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise. 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 "For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds; 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was naught but the sinners that led us astray; 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104
