We did indeed send Noah to his people and he lived among them a thousand years save fifty. Eventually the Flood overtook them while they were engaged in wrongdoing. 14 But We saved him and those who were with him in the Ark and made the event a sign for mankind. 15 And (remember) Abraham. When he said to his people 'Worship Allah and fear Him. That would be best for you, if you but knew. 16 You only worship idols besides Allah and you create a lie surely they whom you serve besides Allah do not control for you any sustenance, therefore seek the sustenance from Allah and serve Him and be grateful to Him; to Him you shall be brought back. 17 And if ye belie me, then communities before you have belied: and upon the apostle is naught but a preaching manifest. 18 Have they never observed how Allah creates for the first time and then repeats it? Indeed (to repeat the creation of a thing) is even easier for Allah (than creating it for the first time). 19 Say, [O Muhammad], "Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allah will produce the final creation. Indeed Allah, over all things, is competent." 20 He punishes whom He pleases and has mercy on whom He pleases, and to Him you shall be turned back. 21 "Not on earth nor in heaven will ye be able (fleeing) to frustrate (his Plan), nor have ye, besides Allah, any protector or helper." 22
