And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 and [how] We make gardens of date-palms and vines [grow] thereon, and cause springs to gush [forth] within it, 34 so that they may eat of the fruit thereof, though it was not their hands that made it. Will they not, then, be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him, who created all the pairs of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they know not. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 And the sun runs on to a term appointed for it; that is the ordinance of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 We have determined the stations of the moon, so that (after its wanderings) it returns as a dried up inflorescent spike of dates. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 how We carried them and their offspring inside the laden Ark 41 and [that] We create for them things of a similar kind, on which they may embark [in their travels]; 42 And if We will, We can drown them, so there would be no help in their distress, nor would they be saved. 43 But (by) mercy from Us and for enjoyment till a time. 44 When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back). 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: Spend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Shall we feed those whom Allah, if He willed, would feed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 The unbelievers say, "When will the Day of Judgment come if what you say is at all true?" 48 They await just one scream, which will overcome them while they are involved in worldly disputes. 49 No (chance) will they then have, by will, to dispose (of their affairs), nor to return to their own people! 50
