S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Koran, containing the Remembrance -- 1 Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism. 2 How many a nation did We destroy before them! (When they approached their doom) they cried out (for deliverance), but the time for deliverance was already past. 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say: This is an enchanter, a liar. 4 Has he made the gods one single God? This is truly astounding.” 5 The chiefs among them departed saying: go, and persevere in your gods; verily this is a thing designed. 6 We have not heard of any such thing in the old religion. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Do they have the stores of the mercy of your Lord, the mighty and munificent? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, theirs? Then let them climb up the ladders (to the heavens). 10 [They are but] soldiers [who will be] defeated there among the companies [of disbelievers]. 11 Before them, the people of Nooh had denied, and the tribe of A’ad, and Firaun who used to crucify. 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lout (Lot), and the dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
