S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Suad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition. 1 Those who deny the truth are steeped in arrogance and hostility. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar. 4 They say, "Has he condemned all other gods but One? This is certainly strange". 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 "We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention! 7 Hath unto him the admonition been sent down from amongst us! Yea! they are in doubt concerning My admonition. Yea! they have not yet tasted My torment. 8 Do they possess the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or, is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and that which is in-between the twain? If so, let them ascend by steps. 10 The army is defeated as (were) the confederates. 11 Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people), 12 And the Thamud, the people of Lot, as well as the dwellers of the Wood, had denied. These were the hordes. 13 There was none of them but called the apostles liars, so just was My retribution. 14
