Say: I am only a warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all): 65 Lord of the heavens and earth, and of what between them is, the All-mighty, the All-forgiving.' 66 Say, "This is momentous news, 67 "From which ye do turn away! 68 "I had no knowledge of the chiefs (angels) on high when they were disputing and discussing (about the creation of Adam). 69 I have only received revelation to give you plain warning. 70 [For,] lo, thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him prostrate, 72 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 73 Except Iblis. He was filled with pride and turned an unbeliever. 74 Allah said: O Iblis! what preventeth thee from prostrating thyself before that which I have created with both my hands? Becomest thou stiff-necked, or art thou of the exalted ones? 75 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am better than he, You created me from fire, and You created him from clay." 76 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here: for thou art rejected, accursed. 77 My condemnation will be with you until the Day of Judgment!" 78 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 79 He said: “You are of those who have been granted respite 80 for an appointed time". 81 He said: "By Your authority, I will lead them astray, 82 Save Thy bondmen among them Sincere. 83 He said: The Truth is, and the Truth I speak, 84 that I shall certainly fill hell with you and your followers all together". 85 Say thou: I ask of you for it no hire, nor am I of the affecters. 86 Lo! it is naught else than a reminder for all peoples 87 "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while." 88
