and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Even then they say: 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
