Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and the burden-bearers 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
