Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
