Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he went back to his family and brought a fat roasted calf 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant. 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
