Al-Najm 3 of 3
(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
