Thamood, too, belied Our warnings. 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Was there none but he to whom the Reminder could be vouchsafed excluding all others? Nay; he is an insolent liar.” 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 Tell them that each one of them has the right to have a certain share of water". 28 Then they called their comrade, and he took in hand, and hamstrung her. 29 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 30 We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 32 The people of Lot cried lies to the warnings. 33 Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak, 34 As a Favour from Us, thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us). 35 Surely Lot warned his people that We shall seize them (with Our chastisement), but they doubted the warnings. 36 Then they even solicited his guests from him, whereupon We blotted out their eyes, (telling them): “Now have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings.” 37 And certainly a lasting chastisement overtook them in the morning. 38 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 39 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 40
