The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 facing one another. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 And shade extended 30 and gushing water, 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
