Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Most Auspicious is He in Whose control is the entire kingship; and He is Able to do all things. 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 [Hallowed be] He who has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another: no fault will thou see in the creation of the Most Gracious. And turn thy vision [upon it] once more: canst thou see any flaw? 3 Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. 4 And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of hell, and evil is the resort. 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth. 7 It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?" 8 They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. 9 And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze." 10 So it is that they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze! 11 As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 12 Whether you speak in secret or aloud, He knows what is in every heart. 13 Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? 14
