Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 in a lofty Garden 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 And not known my account! 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
