You will never come to piety unless you spend of things you love; and whatever you spend is known to God. 92 ۞ Every foods was allowable unto the Children of Isra'il, save that which Isra'il had forbidden unto himself, ere the Taurat was revealed. Say thou: bring ye then the Taurat and recite it, if ye say sooth. 93 Whoso forges falsehood against God after that, those are the evildoers. 94 Say: Allah has spoken the truth, therefore follow the religion of Ibrahim, the upright one; and he was not one of the polytheists. 95 The first House ever to be built for people was that at Bakkah (Mecca) blessed and a guidance for the worlds. 96 There are clear signs in it; it is the place where Abraham stood. Anyone who enters it will be secure. Pilgrimage to the House is a duty to God for anyone who is able to undertake it. Anyone who disbelieves should remember that God is independent of all creatures. 97 Say: 'People of the Book, why do you disbelieve in the signs of God? Surely God is witness of the things you do.' 98 Say: 'People of the Book, why do you bar from God's way the believer, desiring to make it crooked, yourselves being witnesses? God is not heedless of the things you do.' 99 O believers, if you yield to some of those who were given the Scripture, they will cause you to renounce the truth after you have believed. 100 And how can you disbelieve? To you are being recited the messages of God, and His prophet is among you. And whosoever holds fast to God shall verily be guided to the path that is straight. 101
