The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great event, 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 Recompense fitted! 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
