The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 The disbelievers say, "Will we really return to our former state?" 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 That "Go to Firaun - he has rebelled." 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And assembled his council and proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear the consequences. 26
