The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
