The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
