Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 Who know what you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 to burn therein. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
