The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
