The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
