The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
