The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
