Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 Goblets set, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
