Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 and arranged cushions 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth how it has been spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
