The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And rejects the best, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
