The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
