Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 separating one from another, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
