The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
