۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
