The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
