The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
