۞ I swear by the setting of the stars 75 And this surely is great evidence if you can understand -- 76 That it is a Recitation honourable. 77 In a Book kept hidden 78 Which none can touch except the purified. 79 a revelation from the Sustainer of all the worlds! 80 How can you regard this discourse with disdain? 81 And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false? 82 Why, then, when (the soul) cometh up to the throat (of the dying) 83 the while you are helplessly watching that he is on the verge of death, 84 (And We are nigher him than you, but you do not see Us) 85 Then why, if you are not indebted (to Us for life), 86 do you not cause the soul to return to him if you are truthful in your claim? 87 Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah, 88 Then breath of life, and plenty, and a Garden of delight. 89 And if he is of those on the right, – 90 (For him is the salutation), "Peace be unto thee", from the Companions of the Right Hand. 91 But if he is of the rejecters, the erring, 92 its dwelling will be boiling water 93 and the roasting in Hell. 94 Verily this! this is the very truth. 95 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Great One. 96
